Venue: Spartan environment, technically equipped with a bar (but unused) and a small outdoor area with tables and chairs facing Soi 7/1, where the girls spend their time when not busy. Services are provided in designated spaces on the upper floor. The rooms are small, around two by two meters or slightly larger, similar to a storage room. They are modest and sparse but include a leather armchair and a service sink similar to those used in hair salons (and at least no large amounts of water spill onto the floor during preparation).
Girls: The girls are divided into two categories: “standard” and “VIP,” the latter dressed more “elegantly,” but essentially nothing changes in terms of services. The lineup is generally average in appearance, with some slightly above and others slightly below. The average age is relatively high, and there are still a few veterans from the now-defunct venue that operated in the same location years ago as Dr BJ’s.
The positive note is that the staff have considerable experience, being seasoned professionals (don’t expect a horde of young, cute “pseudo-teens” like at 7Heaven, but still better than Lolita’s).
Prices: 800 Baht for the “standard” girls and 1,000 Baht for the “VIP” girls. The service continues until completion, with the approximate duration being around half an hour. They won’t stop midway if you haven’t finished by the 31st minute, although, of course, if it becomes clear that it’s not going to happen, they will let you know.
Opening Hours: Every day from 11:00 to 01:00 .
Restaurant/Bar: There is some kind of bar service if you want a beer, but it is generally not a place where you go to drink.
Notes: Wood Bar is a long-established Pump Station that replaced the legendary Dr BJ’s—a name that may mean little to some, but for many was a landmark in Bangkok’s adult entertainment scene until the COVID period, when it closed. It is located on Sukhumvit 7/1 Alley (Soi 7/1), just past other venues on the right, immediately after passing Magic Table. The sign is modest but easily recognizable, as is the entrance where the staff usually hang out.
In short, Wood Bar is one of the many budget BJ bars in the area between Nana and Asok. The venue is old and a bit rundown, but in its own way, it’s also unique, and the service is good. There are certainly better options, but the price is low, and overall it’s worth a visit. A slightly trashy yet distinctive spot that should not be missing from a traveler’s “curriculum.”
