Venue: The old Acapulco Prime reopened on July 17, 2026 under the new name PRIME Gentleman’s Spa, after several months of closure and renovation work. The basic layout, however, has remained much the same as before: a very large venue spread over several levels, with reception, changing rooms, a main lounge with bar, sofas and stools, rooms, a relaxation area, cinema, sauna, steam room, restaurant, and above all a pleasant outdoor area with garden and swimming pool. Some of the furniture, rooms, showers, and changing areas have been renovated, and there is now also a VIP room with whirlpool available for an extra charge. The main highlight remains the outdoor area. During the warmer months, the garden and pool completely change the atmosphere of the place and, despite being in the usual German industrial area, the setting among the trees and greenery is very pleasant. The indoor spaces are large and well laid out, making it possible to relax without always being in the middle of the constant activity of the main lounge. Facilities such as the sauna and steam room are included in the entrance fee, while professional massages are available at an additional cost.
Girls: Today the number is lower than during the best years of the old Acapulco Prime, and I would say that around ten girls is a fairly realistic estimate, with some better days and others that are quieter. The line-up remains fairly international, with a majority of girls from Eastern Europe, but not exclusively. As always, looks, personality, and performance can vary considerably from one girl to another, but the average level remains good. The overall approach is still relaxed and not too aggressive, so there is no constant pressure while you are sitting at the bar or relaxing, which is something I have always personally appreciated about this place.
Prices: Entrance is €40, rising to €50 on Fridays, Saturdays, and the days before public holidays. The price includes the usual sauna-club kit—bathrobe, slippers, and locker key—as well as access to the sauna, steam room, swimming pool, soft drinks, hot drinks, and buffet. As for the girls’ services, the old fixed rate of €50 for half an hour is now a thing of the past. As a general reference, the basic rate for a standard half-hour is around €60, but that is really the minimum, and the tendency toward upgrades is starting to be felt here as well.
Hours: Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 a. m .; other days from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. Closes at 5:00 a.m. even on the days before holidays.
Restaurant/Bar: The buffet and non-alcoholic drinks are still included in the entrance fee, and breakfast/brunch, lunch, and dinner are served throughout the day, with snacks, soups, and desserts available in between. When the weather allows, a barbecue is also organized outside. Nothing gourmet, of course, but for a Sauna Club the service is more than decent and, above all, it makes it easy to spend the whole day there.
Note: PRIME Gentleman’s Spa is basically the old Acapulco Prime in Velbert, renovated and renamed. Do not expect a complete revolution, because anyone who had already been there will recognize the place immediately, but several areas have been updated and overall it now looks more modern and better maintained. The venue remains huge compared with the average number of girls and customers present, and this is both an advantage and a drawback: on the one hand, you are unlikely to feel packed in like sardines; on the other, on quieter days some areas can feel almost empty.
Naturally, like many other similar venues, PRIME is at its best during the warmer months, when the garden and swimming pool can really be enjoyed. In summer, it is easy to spend the whole day moving between the sun loungers, sauna, buffet, pool, and rooms without getting bored, while in winter the venue inevitably loses an important part of its appeal. The atmosphere is still relaxed and not particularly party-oriented: this is not the place to choose if you are looking for noise, chaos, and a huge crowd of girls with the club packed until five in the morning. It is more the kind of Sauna Club to enjoy at a slower pace, perhaps arriving in the afternoon and staying for several hours.
The main limitation is still the number of girls. A venue of this size could easily accommodate many more, and when the line-up drops below ten the imbalance becomes quite noticeable. That said, the number of male customers is usually not excessive either, so the competition remains fairly limited.
As for prices, the old days are gone: the entrance fee has increased, and the standard half-hour now starts at €60. Even so, considering the buffet, soft drinks, sauna, steam room, swimming pool, and the use of the entire facility, the value for money remains fairly good compared with the average German Sauna Club.
The venue is located in Velbert, around 30 minutes by car from Düsseldorf and its airport, so it can easily be combined with a stay in Düsseldorf or a visit to nearby cities. Personally, I still see it mainly as a good secondary destination: I would not take a flight just to come here, but it works very well for anyone already in the area for other reasons, or as a stop on a multi-day mini-tour together with other venues near Düsseldorf, such as SKY SAUNACLUB, MAGNUM, or ACAPULCO GOLD, especially between spring and summer when the outdoor area can be fully enjoyed.
In short, PRIME Gentleman’s Spa remains a good Sauna Club with a long history behind it, now renovated and updated without losing the basic setup of the old Acapulco Prime. Its main strengths are the space, the relaxed atmosphere, the facilities, and above all the attractive outdoor area with swimming pool. For now, the main weakness remains the female line-up, which is not always large enough for a venue of this size, but that could change over the coming months if the club continues to do well. With a few more girls, it could easily return to the better levels of the past.
