The Venue: Bahama in Maintal is a fairly small Sauna Club located in the industrial area of Maintal-Dörnigheim, between Frankfurt and Hanau, right next to the latter. It is much more compact than the large FKK clubs in the Frankfurt area. Locals and regular customers jokingly call it “The Corrugated Metal Shack,” a well-deserved nickname, since it really is a small industrial building made of corrugated metal. Nevertheless, the club has two floors. On the ground floor, you will find the reception, changing room, sauna, showers, a small relaxation room overlooking the outdoor area, buffet area, TV room, and, of course, the main lounge with its bar and sofas. Upstairs, there are the private rooms and the girls’ changing rooms. There is also a small outdoor area for the warmer months, equipped with a wooden gazebo, sun loungers, a sauna, a couple of tables and chairs, and a sort of small pool that does not serve much purpose but is presumably meant to provide a refreshing touch during summer. The place is well maintained, although it does show its age and its limited size. Overall, it feels like a functional, old-school club without too many frills, but with everything you need to spend half a day there. The temperature inside was quite warm. They do not call it Bahama for nothing. ^^

Girls: Around fifteen, sometimes even fewer in the afternoon and on weekdays. The overall quality is not outstanding, but it is not exactly disastrous either. Apparently, girls who also work at Sharks have occasionally worked here. The girls generally have a fairly relaxed attitude, and you usually do not experience the same pressure as in other, busier clubs. Still, it is not a top-tier venue in this respect either.

Prices: Entrance fee from €35. As for the girls’ rates, the basic half-hour session starts at €50, although it is not unusual to find someone asking €100 for a relaxed, all-inclusive session, still lasting just 30 minutes. The basic rate is generally accepted and offers satisfactory service. If in doubt, it is always better to clarify everything with the girls beforehand.

Opening Hours: Friday and Saturday, 12:00 PM to 4:00 AM. All other days, 12:00 PM to 2:00 AM.

Restaurant/Bar: Soft drinks and buffet included in the entrance fee. The food selection is better than I expected from this little metal shack. The food is decent, with a reasonable variety of options. The buffet opens at noon, and hot dishes are served for dinner from 5:00 PM. In summer, as in many similar clubs, outdoor barbecues are organized.

Notes: Like all small Sauna Clubs, Bahama is not the ideal place to spend an entire day, from early afternoon until late at night. Of course, nothing stops you from doing so, but you may easily get bored. The venue is small and fairly basic. The wellness area consists of just a couple of saunas, while the bar area is a rather compact open space. There are no other entertainment options, and there is not much to look at while relaxing between sessions. Even in summer, the outdoor area is small and not particularly attractive. On the positive side, the club is not usually crowded and has a relaxed atmosphere. With a little luck and a decent line-up of girls, you can make the most of your time there without having to rush.

Bahama in Maintal is easy to reach by car, just over half an hour from Frankfurt and only a few minutes from the neighboring city of Hanau, home to Atlanta FKK, a slightly larger Sauna Club with a similar number of girls but a more pleasant outdoor area in summer. You can also get there from central Frankfurt by public transport: take a regional train to Maintal Ost or Hanau, then complete the journey by taxi or local transport. The best option, however, is to rent a car directly at the airport and use it to get around, especially if you are planning a mini-tour of several clubs. There are plenty of them in the Frankfurt area, and if you are interested, you can find them in the club reviews.

In Short: Bahama is a small Sauna Club worth visiting if you happen to be in Frankfurt and want to spend half a day in pleasant company without spending too much. If, on the other hand, you want to visit just one Trombodromo and spend ten hours or more there, this is not the right place. Still, consider having lunch or dinner at the club to get more value out of the €35 entrance fee. It is worth it, especially when the barbecue is running.
