LANGUAGE: In the Philippines, there are about 170 different languages, but the most widely spoken and considered the official language is Tagalog. Together with English, Tagalog is used in government documents, education, business, as well as by the press and other media.
Currency: Peso Filippino ( PHP ) ( Piso Filipino ) ( ₱ )
CLIMATE: The Philippines has a tropical maritime climate, hot and humid, with an average annual temperature of about 27°C.
The year is divided into three seasons:
– Hot Season / Summer (Tag-init / Tag-Araw) from March to May.
– Rainy season (Tag-ulan) from June to November.
– Cold season (Tag-lamig) from December to February.
From May to October the wet monsoon (Habagat) blows from the southwest, while from November to April the dry monsoon (Amihan) comes from the northwest. From July to October, the passage of hurricanes and typhoons is not rare throughout the archipelago. Temperatures almost never exceed 37°C in summer and rarely fall below 20°C in winter.
PHILIPPINES: It is difficult to summarize a country like the Philippines, an archipelago made up of more than 7,500 islands with a population of 111 million people who speak 170 different languages and “Metro Manila”, the large metropolitan area of the capital of the same name which in total is home to about 25 million inhabitants, which makes it one of the most densely populated areas on the planet but, above all due to extremely widespread poverty, also one of the most dangerous (the second in all of Asia, after Damascus in Syria, for example). On the other hand, the Philippines is also home to some of the most beautiful beaches and coral reefs on the planet and dreamlike natural landscapes, and also an impressive amount of “women of easy virtue”. This is largely due to the poverty of a large part of the population, but also to a widespread culture for which many Filipino women aim to find the foreigner who will take them away and possibly support them or at least ensure a good standard of living regardless of the love (yes, with three m’s) that may or may not exist.
FOR MEN: Manila, Angeles City, Cebu, Boracay, Davao
NOTE: You are in Manila, in your hotel in the Makati Poblacion area in Burgos street (P.Burgos Street, the other Burgos, a few kilometers away, is a deserted alley) nearby you will find shopping centers, bars and restaurants within walking distance in a few minutes, during the day you enjoy the sun by the pool, then go to the Royal disco after midnight, then maybe to the Secret Doors, a sort of disco pub, for an after hour. Or you head straight for the strip bars, like Maison, Lips or Neon or maybe if you are looking for the elite (and want to spend a lot more) take a taxi and pop into Xylo which is the most In disco in Manila. This could be the summary of a typical day of a “ForMen” vacation in the Philippines. Another interesting city is Angeles City where in the Walking Street area you can find everything and have fun without too much hassle at the right price. Always be careful not to fall into the trap of “buy my friends a drink too” when you approach a young lady in a disco or other places, because girls in the trade tend to be crafty, especially with those who are passing by. As for safety in general, as long as you stay in “tourist” areas and do not go around alone in bad neighborhoods, especially at night but not only, it is enough to adopt the rules of common sense and keep a low profile, but as they say “trust is good but not trusting is better”, so have fun but always with caution because Manila remains a chaotic and potentially risky city, especially for those who do not know it.
