As promised, after the article about the prices of prostitution in Europe, it’s now time to talk about
the cost of paid sex in Asia
— specifically in five key countries when it comes to what one might call “almond-eyed babes”: Thailand, Japan, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
It’s no coincidence that these are the four Southeast Asian countries most favored by punters, plus Japan — which, although not the most open country for travelers seeking the company of cheerful local ladies, still deserves a mention. In fact, if you know the right places — like the Tokyo Hentai Club (you’ll find a full review here) — it’s not all that difficult to be pampered by Japanese ladies in the business.
These destinations have, for years — even decades — been well-established hotspots for those in search of some good old-fashioned fun and, of course, paid companionship. The scene ranges from openly explicit and specialized venues to more discreet massage parlors, bars of all kinds, and much more.
This list isn’t meant to be a set of commandments to follow blindly, but rather a general guide to give you an overall idea of the average costs in the industry.
We’ll take a look at the typical rates for different types of venues and services, along with some cultural and legal peculiarities in these five well-known paid sex destinations.
As mentioned in the European version, you can find all the detailed information about individual establishments in the venue review sections and travel stories on the blog — for those who want to dive deeper into the topic.

So, after this brief but necessary introduction, here’s an overview of the prices of paid sex in Asia.

⇒THAILAND

Thailand is famously the most well-known and established destination in Asia for those seeking the company of beautiful women and everything that comes with it.
Known as “The Land of Smiles,” this country blends warm hospitality, dreamy landscapes, and a lively, diverse nightlife. Cities like Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, and other more or less famous spots are renowned for their red-light districts and “For Men” zones, offering a wide range of services — from the iconic Go-Go Bars to Full Service Massage Parlors and beyond.
Thai culture tends to be tolerant of prostitution and the sex industry, to the point that in many places it’s fully integrated into daily life. This creates an ecosystem where both workers and clients move about regularly and safely. The supply is vast, the competition is strong, and the overall quality of service is quite high. You can find anything from budget-friendly options to ultra-luxurious experiences.
In short: whatever you’re looking for — and even things you hadn’t thought of — it’s probably here.

Types of Services and Prices

  • Bar Girls / Go-Go Bar Girls
The girls work inside bars and nightclubs, entertaining customers with conversation, dancing, and often with the option of being taken out of the venue (known as a bar fine).

    • Lady Drink: 160–250 THB
    • Bar-fine (to take the girl to a hotel or elsewhere): 600–1.200 THB
    • Short Time: 2.500–4.000 THB
    • Long time: 4.000–7000+ THB
  • Freelance
Independent girls can be found working on their own, and are reachable on the street, through apps, or via personal connections. They usually offer more flexible arrangements.

    • Short time: 1.000–2.000 THB
    • Long time: 3.000–4.000 THB
  • Pump Station/Pink Salon/BJ Bar
Venues where only oral services(no sex) are offered, there are a variety of them and for all budgets. To learn more you can read the dedicated guide “BJ Bars and Where to Find Them.”

    • Oral Service: 800 to 1,400 THB (+ any Extras)
  • Massage Centers/Teen/Soapy/Nuru
There are various types of massage centers, each with its own characteristics and prices; the range of offerings is enormous, almost impossible to try them all.

    • “Regular” massage parlors that offer “happy endings” upon request — these are usually the ones facing the street, with workers standing outside calling out in unison as you walk by. There’s a base price for the massage, plus an extra fee for the happy ending: on average, 1000–1500 THB. (If you need to spend more than that, it’s better to go directly to a “Teen Massage.”)
    • Teen Massage parlors, where the massage is usually mild but various happy endings — including full service — are listed on the price menu: 2.000–3.000+ THB
    • Soapy Massage, a classic Thai experience where full service is combined with a bath in the tub alongside the worker and a soapy massage: prices range from 3,000–4,000 THB up to three times that for those seeking luxury and special options.
    • Nuru Massage, similar to Soapy but imported from Japan, is often included in the price list of various types of establishments. Specialized shops offering a decent Nuru massage — like Kokoro in Bangkok — are few, but if you find one, it’s worth trying the experience, even though it’s generally not cheap: 2,900–3,900 THB for 60 or 90 minutes respectively, and up to 10,000 THB or more for 90 minutes with two workers and various extras, just to give you an idea of possible prices.
  • Escorts (somewhat like freelancers, but the Luxury version)
Professionals bookable for private meetings. They often offer more comprehensive and discreet services, with higher rates.

    • Escort 1-2 hours: 3,000-10,000 THB
    • Full night escort: up to 20,000+ THB

Note:

Prostitution is not officially legal but is widely tolerated and prevalent. The industry is deeply rooted and normalized in society, although there is a form of legal hypocrisy. Mutual respect is fundamental.

⇒JAPAN

Japan represents a world of its own in the landscape of paid sex in Asia. With its particularly strict culture and harsh laws, it has created a complex and well-regulated system of erotic and sexual activities that often fall into legal gray areas.
(For example, prostitution itself is not banned, but paid vaginal intercourse is illegal — quite a confusing situation, to say the least.)
Districts like Kabukicho in Tokyo or Susukino in Sapporo host venues specializing in particular services such as “Soaplands” (or Sopurāndo, as they call them), where the sensual washing of the client is like a ritual that precedes the usual full service. Then there are “Fashion Health” parlors and the cheaper “Pink Salons” (Pinsāro), which offer various services but always without penetration.
Prices are among the highest in all of Asia, and the services tend to be very professional and meticulously detailed. Japan also places a strong emphasis on privacy and rule-following. The population is generally open to other cultures but very protective of its own traditions and patriotic. For this reason, most male pleasure venues limit access to citizens or residents only — in other words, if you know Japanese customs well and speak the language, you’re likely to be let in; otherwise, no.
Fortunately, there are also less strict venues and agencies catering exclusively to non-Japanese customers, such as the aforementioned Tokyo Hentai Club. The Smooci app can also be useful in this regard, provided you find a girl who speaks at least one language you understand, of course.

Types of Services and Prices

  • Soapland
Erotic establishments where the girl “washes” the client sensually before the actual act.

    • Price: 15,000-30,000 JPY for 60-90 minutes
  • Fashion Health
Oral and masturbation services, without penetration.

    • Price: 6,000-15,000 JPY for 30-45 minutes
  • Delivery Health / Agency Escorts
Professional escorts offering home or hotel services.

    • Price: 15,000-30,000 JPY for 60 minutes
  • Pink Salon
Small, discreet Venues where performance is oral or manual.

    • Price: 3,000-8,000 JPY for 30 minutes

Note:

Prostitution is prohibited by law, but only penetration is forbidden, creating an ecosystem of technically legal services. Many venues do not accept foreigners or require Japanese escorts.

⇒PHILIPPINES

The Philippines is an archipelago of over 7,000 islands, characterized by a lively, welcoming, and very open culture. The population is young and speaks fluent English, making communication easy for Western tourists.
Cities like Manila and Angeles City have been renowned for decades for their nightlife and paid sex industry, which is mostly centered around bars with girls and street scenes. The cost of living is low, so service prices are very affordable as well.
Although prostitution is formally illegal, there is widespread tolerance and an informal social control system. The Philippines also offers a warmer and friendlier atmosphere, with many girls seeking not just sex but also companionship and conversation.

Types of Services and Prices

  • Bar Girls
Working in bars with stage and shows, they can be “taken out” by paying bar end.

    • Drink lady (bar): 150–300 PHP
    • Bar fine: 500–1.000 PHP
  • Freelance
Self-employed women who deal directly with clients, often through apps or social media.

    • Short time: 1.000–2.000 PHP
    • Long time: up to 3,000 PHP
  • Massage Centers
Offer traditional massages with the possibility of sexual extras.

    • Massage prices with extras: PHP 500-1,500
  • Escorts
Groomed and professional women, often available through agencies or apps.

    • Escort price: 2,000-5,000 PHP

Note:

Prostitution is illegal but tolerated. Discretion and respect are essential.

⇒CAMBODIA

Cambodia, with its difficult past and rapid economic growth, is today a popular destination for those seeking extremely low prices in the paid sex industry. Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville are the main centers of this activity.
Here, the scene is much less structured compared to Thailand or Japan: it often involves young girls working on the streets or in small bars, with conditions and service quality varying greatly. The cost of living is very low, and this is reflected in the prices, which are among the cheapest in the entire region.
The legislation is strict on paper, but enforcement is often minimal, leaving room for a nearly free market.

Types of Services and Prices

  • Bar Girls
Similar to Thailand but cheaper, often girls working along the streets or in bars.

    • Drink lady (bar): 1–2 USD
    • Bar fine: 5–10 USD
  • Freelance
Available on the street or through Venue connections.

    • Short time: 10–20 USD
    • Long time: 30–50 USD
  • Massage Centers
Offer traditional massages with the possibility of sexual extras.

    • Massages with “happy ending”: 10-15 USD
    • Full body massages: 20-30 USD

Note:

Prostitution is technically illegal, but widespread and visible. Controls are rare.

⇒VIETNAM

Vietnam is a rapidly developing economic and tourist nation that is gradually establishing itself in the erotic tourism sector. Compared to neighboring countries, the paid sex market is more discreet and less publicly visible, although in major cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, there are venues, bars, and massage parlors offering extras.
Vietnamese culture is more conservative, but growing tourist openness has led to an increase in available services. Prices are generally low, and the environment is mostly safe, although regulations are strict and authorities tend to openly crack down on illegal activities.

Types of Services and Prices

  • Beer Bar Girls
Girls who work in bars, with fine bar opportunities to take them out of the Venue.

    • Bar fine: 200.000–500.000 VND
  • Short Time
    Short meetings, usually outside Venues.

    • Short time price: 1,000,000-2,000,000 VND

Finally, a couple of tips:

Traveling for pleasure isn’t just about discovering new places and situations, but often about new ways of interacting with people living realities different from our own everyday life. One important thing, in my opinion, is to always remember to treat those who offer these services with proper respect.
(Every now and then it’s okay to be a jerk—sometimes people deserve it—but if that becomes the rule rather than the exception, I’d start asking questions.)
It’s right to get informed, ask questions, understand who you’re dealing with, test if it’s worth it, and if needed, negotiate the price (preferably without being cheap). But when the moment comes, it’s also right to let yourself get involved in situations that can be enjoyable and less superficial than a quick one-night stand. After all, we’re all human beings, and a vague friendship or a closer relationship can always develop in these environments between clients and workers. (Many will say otherwise, but each of us is a different story—there’s no single truth for everyone.)
The key is to always keep a good sense of judgment and know when to walk away if needed. Everyone is free to complicate their life as they see fit, but if we’re talking about prostitutes, my advice is to fall in love at least three times a day—and never twice in a row with the same person. That way, you’ll always have different experiences to remember and something new to think about.

And with this, I hope I’ve cleared up some doubts for those who were confused and for those who aren’t very familiar with these environments but want to go on an adventure.
