Hello Dear Fellow Travelers, today we’re talking about TravelsForMen.com
It’s been almost a month since the low blow of the YouTube channel being shut down, but as they say, ‘time heals everything,’ so here we are again talking about news and ongoing projects.
Of course, new content hasn’t been lacking, even though I said I’d take a short break (then two days later I was back here writing things again—details, details). So, you’ll find the review sheet for the Club Venus which is worth a visit in the summer if you’re passing through the Düsseldorf area, then a nice overview of Angeles City, in the Philippines, a sort of ‘beginner’s guide’ that I hope might be useful to someone, and finally there’s also the Asian counterpart of The Prices of Paid Sex in Europe that is The Prices of Paid Sex in Asia where you’ll find reference prices for Thailand, Japan, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. As always, it’s not meant to be a bible, but rather a guideline for those who have no idea about the cost of services and working girls, so it might come in handy if you’re planning to visit new destinations and feel a bit lost.
But aside from that, there’s news for TravelsForMen.com — actually, several updates. The first one, less interesting for Italian travelers, is that the site is becoming bilingual. In fact, all the content is currently being translated into English, and believe me, there’s a lot — I’m handling it personally.
Let’s say we’re about 70% done at the moment. I’ve already translated all the Reviews, the Destination pages, the Hotel pages, and some of the most useful and recent Blog articles. What’s still missing are the travel stories and the older articles, which will be coming in the next few weeks, just for completeness.
The other noteworthy update is that, for ease of use and to avoid confusion, I decided to remove references to Booking.com in favor of AGODA for hotel bookings.
They were almost equivalent, but Agoda has a bit more focus on guest-friendly hotels in Thailand and other Asian countries, and it works just as well for hotels in Europe.
Additionally, since the site is now available in English, you’ll also find Hotels.com and Expedia, which offer good service, are reliable, and widely used abroad.
By the way, Expedia also includes flight search if you need it.
So, while Agoda will remain the main reference for accommodations, you’ll find search boxes for the others in the Hotel section, along with their links at the bottom of the page.
(Of course, whether you book through here or elsewhere doesn’t change anything for you, but I get a small commission to keep the site running — I thought it was fair to mention it ^^).
The last update, going back to the initial topic, concerns the video review project, which was originally intended for YouTube. However, since the platform is very strict and doesn’t appreciate certain topics, I decided to embed them directly under the related Review pages.
At the moment, there aren’t many, but more will come because I like the idea and it won’t be abandoned.
First, though, I need to finish the translations, which are more important.
Amid all this, I’ve already booked my flight and apartment for August since this time I’ll be based in Bangkok until September, and I can’t wait to leave — as always, really. But we’ll talk about that later. For now, there are other reviews to write and topics to explore; I just lack the time to write everything (unfortunately, between one writing and another, I also have to earn my bread by working — what can I do? ^^).
So, I just wanted to update you on the situation — that’s all for now.
See you soon, fellow travelers!
