Sawàt-di Kráp dear fellow Travelers!
Sex & Relax: the perfect summary of my current state with ten days left before the end of this stay in the Thai capital, a city I would love to call home even though it is not quite that yet. But we will talk about that at the end. First, I need to give you the usual recap of what has been going on.
Honestly, with no schedules and no plans, I am starting to lose track of time, and that is perfectly fine with me. After Dozo, Queen, and the brief visit to Whisky on Soi 8, I have not tried any new venues around the city. On the other hand, I have had the chance to get to know a few Nana Plaza Go-Go Bars better, places I had always more or less ignored, and I have definitely moved my strategic base to Soi 7/1. What I mean is that whenever I have no other ideas or inspiration, I just head over to Magic Table without any particular plan. That bar is difficult to define, but it is pleasant and offers several possibilities, from simply having a drink while looking out over the street to going upstairs for a short time with one of the available girls. There are several decent Sciatthai—not Go-Go-level hotties, but they have their own appeal—and it is no coincidence that I have personally tried four of them by now. In the end, though, it all comes down to taste, chemistry, and alcohol. Then there are the older ones too, although they seem to be there mainly to keep the others in line and make up the numbers. In any case, the place stays lively until morning for anyone who does not want to sleep or simply has nowhere else to go.
As for Nana Plaza, the situation is rather confusing, in the sense that unlike on other trips, I cannot seem to find any real points of reference. One night I go to Angel Witch and take back to my room the prettiest girl I have seen in the last twenty days, after choosing between her and another one who appealed to me like crazy. The following night I go back and find nothing but boilers and ultra-MILFs. It is the same in other places like Bunny 5, where one day I would not know which girl to choose, and then for the next couple of days there might not be a single one who inspires me. Red Dragon, on the other hand, always has something good and a decent abundance of girls, but for some reason I never feel completely comfortable in that place. Maybe it is the layout or something else, but that is purely personal, and I certainly cannot say it is not a good Go-Go Bar, because that would be a lie. What I can say, however, is that the best fuck I have had in months came from an almost 37-year-old at Twister, a petite girl who, as usual, looks ten years younger and is basically a well-preserved Sciatthai. And yet the other night I enjoyed her so much in bed that, if she were ten years younger, I would take out a subscription. ^^
Speaking of that, I should mention that my little mission around the hotels in Nana and the surrounding area has continued, and I spent one night at the Nana Hotel. I had been inside several times before, but only to use the toilets late at night. Because of the way the place is laid out, and because it is such a constant flow of people, if you walk into the lobby and head straight for the restroom, nobody says a word. It is a little trick a fellow Traveler taught me almost ten years ago during a night of drinking on those plastic roadside chairs among the street stalls. Now you know it too. Maybe it will come in handy for someone.
The Nana Hotel has its pros and cons: it is right opposite Nana Plaza, it is fairly cheap, it is a piece of the neighborhood’s history, and it has plenty of “character.” Some people call it the “Star Wars Bar,” and in some ways that really is the atmosphere. On the downside, it is very dated. The rooms are about as soundproof as shoeboxes, and you can hear what is happening in the room across the corridor as well as in the neighboring ones. The whole place carries the full weight of its age, the room doors still use physical metal keys, and in general, as I said, it is a real crossroads of people coming and going. The rooms on the second floor are mostly used as short-time rooms, so for anyone who needs that kind of arrangement it is very convenient. But there is a constant flow of Go-Go Girls and customers who are not actually staying at the hotel, which makes the place a little chaotic and unconventional—like the bar from Star Wars, basically. You will find the full review in the Hotels section later, but not now. I am postponing all of that until September, when I am back at my proper workstation.
Now let’s move on to places I had already tried and reviewed in the past, such as Secret Kiss, a BJ joint/brothel that seems to be doing very well at the moment. I went there the other night and found only one girl available, while around fifteen others were shown on the tablet but were already busy. The usual guy at reception told me that another one would be free in about ten minutes if I wanted to wait, but since I was already there, I took the one who was available for an hour of sex at 2,200 Baht. Considering the average looks and attitude, that is not bad at all.
I also went back to Kokoro, which as far as I am concerned remains one of the best Nuru places around. Maybe it is because I repeated my previous experience with the same girl, Aileen, but this time the Nuru part did not last very long, because if I had waited much longer I would have ended up taking her raw between one slide and the next. So the Sacred Sheep on the mattress, surrounded by gel, could not wait any longer. ^^ The only criticism I feel like making concerns the girls’ looks. I know it all comes down to personal taste, but apart from my favorite, there were only two others I would have considered. In my opinion, the rest of the girls who were there at that moment were not quite up to the level of the venue. Of course, it is also possible that the better ones were already busy, but I can only judge what I actually saw.
As for the BJ joints, I went back to VOVO and played it safe with May, while the other times I kept returning to 7 Heaven, which after that unusual two-day closure is now back to operating at full capacity. The only downside is that the prettier girls—always according to my personal tastes—are no longer there, and the new arrivals are not quite up to the level of the previous ones, either in terms of attitude or looks. The service itself is still generally good, with the exception of Orange, who did not really convince me and did not seem particularly interested in doing a good job. The usual Lin and Tina are still very good, although they are also among the oldest girls there, and at the moment Haru is probably the best compromise between looks and service. Still, she is nowhere near the level of my favorite, Tokyo, who for me was the best in that particular setting. Incidentally, that side alley off Soi 33 has become much livelier over the past two years. Before, there was only 7 Heaven and Boss Massage with just two attendants, while now there are Princess, Queen, Hakumi Nuru, and Boss has been renovated and renamed Bonita. I believe the same girls are still working there, though, because I never see any different ones outside when I walk past. I have no intention of checking either, since it is a fairly forgettable place considering the current massage options available on that street.
What else can I say? I still have not had anything to do with ladyboys this time around. Not that I am particularly interested, but usually one or two episodes happen almost by accident. This time, though, nothing. Maybe I will stop by the infamous Check Inn on Soi 10 before the end of the trip, but I really have no idea. Today, on the other hand, I would like to go back to Doki Doki and see whether it is still as good as it used to be or whether all this competition has made it lose some of its edge.
In the meantime, I received an invitation to visit the place directly from 8 Fantasy, a massage venue on Soi 8 near the Det5 restaurant, just before the Hopeland Hotel. Maybe I will stop by, obviously without revealing who I am and risking any special treatment, and I will let you know what it is like, even though someone had not spoken particularly highly of it to me in the past. We will see.
Finally, going back to what I was saying at the beginning, every time I come here for a long holiday—meaning at least a month—I realize that a lot of situations develop almost spontaneously simply by frequenting the same places, and they start piling up over the course of a few weeks. The problem is that not long afterwards it is already time to leave again, and everything is left hanging there, feeding the infamous Thailanditis. What I mean is that if you come to Thailand for a week or two, maybe once a year or even less, you can certainly have a great time and meet plenty of cheerful ladies within just a few days, between Go-Go Bars, Massage places, and everything else. But no matter how active and dedicated you are, in just a few days you only see the tip of the iceberg. If you stay longer, you start to understand which circles and routines suit you best, and you gradually find a dimension that works for you. That brings several advantages, from managing your budget better to a sort of reverse loyalty between customer and working girl. If you go back to the same girl several times and she knows you are a good customer, she tends to treat you with more consideration, knowing that if you are happy, you will come back again. That is one of the reasons why, among other things, I cannot wait until I can start spending at least half the year in the Land of Smiles, at least until the day comes when I can finally leave everything behind and move here permanently. But that is another story…
Now I am going to hang the laundry out on the balcony and then go get something to eat, because last night, after a couple of chats and a couple of beers at Orange with the usual resident friend, I moved on to Magic and, between a game of pool and a drink, somehow ended up in bed again with the least attractive of the eligible girls—the one who, for some reason, gives me the most satisfaction on instinct alone. And that is perfectly fine with me. ^^
So, for now, that’s all from your Redattore in Bangkok. I’ll keep you posted.
Until the next recap, bye for now, dear fellow Travelers!
