Venue: The sauna club FKK Amari is located in an industrial area like most German sauna clubs. From the outside it is a large shed, the same one that formerly housed the Römerbad in Cologne and before that the Salon Rouge, but spruced up and decorated with lights and the Venue logo on the facade. Inside, the environment is relatively spacious; after the reception area are the locker rooms and then it’s on to a glitzy location, divani silver-colored rooms, soft lighting and walls decorated with mirrors and giant screens with images and videos that give a very striking overall effect, the interior design is neat and has an almost disco-like atmosphere but only in appearance. There is of course the bar, smoking area, and upstairs where the 14 rooms are also located, also luxurious looking if almost tacky in some details. Very nice is the spa area with a large sauna, hammam and massage service (for a fee) as well as a pleasant relaxation area with luxurious and comfortable loungers, nice decorations and TV on the fireplace. Not very large, but definitely nice and cozy, is the “green” themed dining room where the buffet is located. To top it all off there is also a decent outdoor.

Girls: about 15 on average. The provenance seems to be quite varied, not only Romanians then, but at least a couple of Bulgarians and an Albanian from Samya, a Turkish and one from some Arab country were also spotted, a couple of Hungarians, a Moldavian self-styled Russian, even a Moroccan, and of course the ever-present draculines.

Prices: Entrance 40€ with soft drinks included (On one’s birthday, entrance is free by presenting ID). Standard half-hour 60€ (but it’s all at the discretion of the girls, some start at 80, others 100) – Extras to be agreed upon at the time with the Girls.

Opening hours: Monday 16:00-03:00, Tuesday 16:00-04:00, Wednesday 16:00-04:00, Thursday 16:00-04:00, Friday 16:00-06:00, Saturday 16:00-06:00, Sunday 16:00-02:00 .

Restaurant/Bar: More than decent buffet food. Free soft drinks. Draft beer included. The rest you pay for.

Notes: What can I say about this AMARI FKK, first of all that it is located in a suburban area about a 15-minute drive from Cologne (but is also conveniently accessible by bus from the city center in about half an hour) and that the location has hosted several Venues before, the last two being the Römerbad of Cologne and before that the Salon Rouge. Now the facility has been renovated and the intention seems to be to create a club of some class, visually and in intent; in fact for now it is a nice environment with a maximum peak of about 20 girls and an average of 15 with an average of as many customers. Not much to get such a Venue off the ground and keep it going. It must be said that with the admission price of only 40 euros, in which meals and draft beer are included in addition to soft drinks, it is not bad. In addition, it seems that the girls have favorable prices for being able to work inside AMARI FKK, which is not to be underestimated and leads new young ladies to at least take a trial shift. There was some hype before the opening, then it seems many forgot about it, perhaps confused by misleading and vague news about the Venue, complicated even more by bad initial management regarding prices during the promo period with free entry. Still, the makings of a good thrombodrome are there, and while it has an average lineup of girls, their varied backgrounds are a good selling point(hoping it doesn’t become yet another Romanian-monopoly fort). The competition is fierce, however, and after a break-in period the Venue seems to have found its own identity, so there are grounds for visiting this decent sauna-club when passing through Cologne.

In Substance: At the moment I would say it is worth a visit for the ambiance and variety of young ladies, even considering the fairly low costs compared to the competition and an all-inclusive total offer regardless of the number of Girls present. It just remains to be seen how it will perform during the winter season.
