Guide to Buying Cialis and Viagra and their Equivalents in Thailand: Prices, Generics, Comparisons and Useful Tips
Drugs such as Cialis (Tadalafil) and Viagra (Sildenafil) are easy to find inThailand. Tourists, as well as resident expats, can buy them in pharmacies where they are also usually sold without a prescription, at lower prices than in Europe. But in addition to the original products, there are also several popular generic equivalents such as Kamagra or Sidegra and Apcalis or Talafil, the former equivalents of Viagra, the latter generics of Cialis.
Very often, especially speaking of Bangkok and Pattaya where it is easy to find yourself having sex 3 or 4 times a day with local young ladies (but if you do it for more than a week and you are no longer in your thirties or even forties, then you need a little outside help so you don’t miss opportunities) one of the recurring questions from Traveling Friends over a beer and in the forums, or even in the Whatsapp group“Birre e Balorde” created by a Bangkok resident friend one day while I was there in the bar where he works, is, “Where can I buy Kamagra or Cialis?”
In the end the answers are always the same, and buying Tadalafil and Sildenafil in Thailand is easier than you might think. And since your friendly Neighborhood Editor has tried them all (I’m approaching 50 and I drink like a pirate on vacation, so don’t judge me^^) here’s a brief guide to what they’re all about and where to buy“the whoremonger’s dope” without any fuss, safely and at the right price.
What is Cialis?
Cialis (Tadalafil) is a PDE5 inhibitor that relaxes muscles and promotes blood flow to the penis during stimulation. Its duration of action can be up to 36 hours, and it is available for bothoccasional use (10-20 mg) anddaily use (2.5-5 mg).
What is Viagra?
Viagra (Sildenafil) is the original drug for erectile dysfunction, with faster but shorter action (4-6 hours). It is effective within 30-60 minutes of taking it. The most common version is 50 mg or 100 mg.

Where to buy safely
-
Licensed pharmacies and large chains (Boots, Watsons, or hospital pharmacies): More controlled for Viagra and Cialis, Boots for example has its own branded version. Difficulty in finding Kamagra and Apcalis. Higher prices.
-
Venue independent pharmacies: Smaller but generally more flexible and with large stock of generics of all types.
-
Avoid street vendors and stalls: Prices are slightly lower but there is a greater risk of counterfeiting and poor storage conditions (tolerable for tablet versions, to be absolutely avoided for gel versions), in any case the amounts involved are relatively low, better to go to pharmacies even if they probably offer the same product.
Common Side Effects
Cialis: headache, backache, redness, nasal congestion.
Viagra: headache, nausea, nasal congestion.
Kamagra and Apcalis: similar to the originals, but with potential variations in tolerability due to excipients or less precise dosing.
Always consult a doctor if you have pre-existing risk conditions (cardiac, liver, kidney) or if you take nitrates.
In a nutshell
In Thailand you can easily find both Viagra and Cialis in original or generic form. The important thing is to know what you are buying, where it comes from, and whether it meets your needs.
-
Do you want flexibility and longevity? → Choose Apcalis or Talafil (Cialis – Tadalafil)
-
Need fast action for a specific occasion? → Choose Kamagra or Sidegra (Viagra – Sildenafil)
-
Want to save money but with a good margin of safety? → Generics in pharmacies are the best choice.
-
Buy from reputable sources, avoid improvisation, and consider a medical examination if you have concerns or side effects.
This small guide is for those seeking so-called “helpers,” and although there are generally no risks on fully healthy individuals, all of the above substances should be used under medical supervision and in the right doses.
Don’t be like the Editor who when inspired throws down kamagra jelly every day for two or three weeks and then “strangely” feels a little dizzy^^. But that is another story….
Bye-bye Fellow Travelers!
