Hello fellow travelers,
The second week of this new adventure has already come and gone \u2014 time really flies when there\u2019s no time to get bored, don\u2019t you think? That\u2019s how I see it, anyway.
But, alas, it hasn\u2019t all been sunshine and roses this time. I haven\u2019t been feeling too great these past few days \u2014 first a nice cold with a runny nose for a couple of days, and now it seems my stomach is a bit upset. Nothing serious, but it keeps me from feeling 100% and puts some limits on what I can do. Still, what can you do? These things happen, and you just have to make do. <\/p>\n

I still want to share with you my second week in Bangkok.
Even though there aren\u2019t many big updates, I can tell you that, after visiting Dopu<\/a>, Secret Kiss<\/a> also proved to be a place worth keeping in mind. I went back there a couple of times and decided to try the Full Service with a different girl, and it turned out to be a great choice. The young lady, named Donut (yes, that\u2019s really her name!), was really charming \u2014 21 years old, with a lovely face and a fresh, slender figure. I actually wanted to go back, but as I mentioned earlier, I haven\u2019t had the chance yet. <\/p>\n

Before that, I went back to 7-Heaven because I was in the mood for Tokyo, but I wasn\u2019t feeling very well, so I only enjoyed it halfway, even though she had to work twice as hard. Anyway, 7-Heaven<\/a> is always a safe bet. After that, I spent two days in almost complete rest, only going out to eat and get supplies, with my nose refusing to cooperate properly. Then I started feeling a bit better and wandered around the neighborhood \u2014 sometimes I like to stroll around and explore streets off the main paths.
In the evening, I visited the historic Wood Bar on Soi 7\/1 (which still doesn\u2019t have a review, but I might write one in the next few days if I feel inspired^^). I thought it was worth returning, and even though the place hasn\u2019t changed a bit over the years, the quality of service is ensured by the experience of the staff. I chose someone from outside who seemed friendly, and the experience was so good that I decided to spend a bit more time there. The total cost was reasonable, and if I remembered her name I would recommend her \u2014 I think it was something like “Nun” or “Noon,” but I might be mistaken.
Later that evening, I stopped by Orange<\/a> for a beer and some chats with other travelers. One of them was visiting Thailand for the first time, and I discovered he lives quite close to my home in Tuscany \u2014 small world, huh? Even though my nose was working again, I still felt a bit off and went to bed early, around 2 a.m.
After that, I spent a couple of days mostly resting due to digestive issues \u2014 unfortunately, it happens sometimes. I\u2019m not sure why, since Thai food usually doesn\u2019t affect me, but it was probably a side effect of the mild cold I had in the previous days. Or, as a friend jokingly said, \u201cIf you spend all your time in these kinds of places, it\u2019s normal to catch a cold.\u201d Considering the fans and air conditioning in these spots always make it cold, I can\u2019t really argue with him. But hey, what can I say \u2014 I know what I enjoy^^. <\/p>\n

On August 20th, that is, yesterday, I was already feeling better. First, I went to enjoy a nice carbonara at La Pala, a restaurant-pizzeria that also makes its own bread, located just under the BTS station at ASOK (which, by the way, is just a few minutes\u2019 walk from Soi 13). If you\u2019ve never been there and want to try good Italian food, I highly recommend it \u2014 the owner is Italian and uses top-quality products imported directly from Italy. They even have Menabrea beer, which I haven\u2019t seen anywhere else in Thailand, for example.
After that, I had a cigarette while strolling and then went to celebrate at Secret Kiss<\/a>, as I mentioned earlier. In the evening, I had planned to go to Nana Plaza, but I stopped for a drink at Orange to say hi to two other passing travelers and ended up changing my plans. <\/p>\n

Around half past midnight, I decided to head to the famous Check In Bar (CIB for friends^^) and spent a couple of beers there with a friendly ladyboy whose name I don\u2019t remember (the only one with dyed blonde hair at the time). If you don\u2019t look too closely, she has very feminine features, small hands included, even though she\u2019s taller than average. Certainly, there are others, but she won my favor.
A couple of hours later, I returned to Orange and saw that the place was lively, enough movement to keep the night going. The evening went on until dawn. Meanwhile, the usual crowd from Soi 7 showed up, and unexpectedly, a familiar face from Orange on Soi 7\/1 appeared. I started offering drinks to people around me because I was in a good mood. By the end of the night, I headed home with someone randomly, partly because I was sober enough to remember where I was staying, but not quite enough to make careful decisions \u2014 still, it was a lot of fun. <\/p>\n

And that\u2019s it \u2014 my guest left about an hour ago. I\u2019ve just done the first load of laundry, and soon I\u2019ll start the second one because these two rooms were a complete mess^^. Later, before evening, I\u2019ll be heading to Pattaya for a few days. In the meantime, I\u2019ve booked a stay at Hotel Adelphi until the 24th, which I know well by now. After that, I\u2019ll see whether to stay there longer or return to Bangkok, depending on how inspired I feel.
For the transfer from here to my hotel in Pattaya, I booked a comfortable SUV for 1,800 Baht through 12GO.ASIA<\/a>. Of course, I could have spent less by choosing a more modest vehicle, but for just a few hundred Baht more, I decided this way \u2014 after all, I\u2019m on vacation. If I really wanted to spend very little, I could have taken a bus for 4 or 5 euros, but I\u2019ve done that before and didn\u2019t feel like waiting and making extra transfers. Plus, this way I can leave after 5:00 PM without stress, which isn\u2019t bad at all.
But now I\u2019ll say goodbye, because the washing machine is beeping and I need to tidy up the apartment before packing my bag and heading out. <\/p>\n

Talk to you in a week or when I get back from Pattaya, either way I will let you know how it went.<\/p>\n
