I have to admit that The Long Short-Time After Midnight <\/em>sounded better when I first thought of it in English, but I guess for non-English speakers Il lungo Short-Time dopo Mezzanotte<\/em> is easier to understand. Since you\u2019ve made it this far, I assume you want to know what it\u2019s all about. So, feeling inspired, I\u2019ll go ahead and explain this \u201cTheory\u201d which over the years has proven to be more practical than theoretical in most cases.<\/p>\n

– \u201cYeah okay, but stop spewing useless words and let’s get down to business.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I know you’re thinking this, I wanted to create some pathos before I got to the point, but with you dry put-downs you have to be pragmatic, I realize that….<\/em><\/p>\n

– \u201cCome on now, you’ve broken my…<\/em>\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Okay okay, I apologize, I’m still under the effect of \u201cthailanditis\u201d from the last trip, I have to entertain myself somehow, but I’ll stop now, I promise^^.<\/em><\/p>\n

After many years and plenty of field tests\u2014by field tests, I mean girls brought back to hotels or apartments during my stays in Thailand<\/em>\u2014I\u2019ve come up with my own personal theory that has, time after time, proven to be increasingly solid. Not a certainty, but close. What am I talking about? Let me explain. <\/p>\n

Y<\/strong>ou surely already know the difference between Short-Time and Long-Time<\/a> in this context, or you may have just learned it by clicking the link next to it, but in a nutshell, the difference between the two options lies in time and price. The Short usually means \u201ca quickie,\u201d while the Long should last at least until sunrise, which is not always certain since the girl might get away with one of the most varied excuses (and arguing to make her stay would be useless or harmful, or both. So if she decides she doesn\u2019t want to stay anymore, you can only accept it and acknowledge the disappointment, as well as the fact that you\u2019re not very liked by the worker you brought to the room, or that the room itself isn\u2019t to her liking, or maybe both in this situation as well<\/em>), unfortunately it happens, it serves as experience and is part of the game, but your friendly Neighborhood Editor is here to give you a hand, or rather a good piece of advice.<\/p>\n

Often staying in hotels<\/a> that look good and therefore not the cheap ones, possibly with a room of at least 30 m\u00b2 with a nice bathroom and a big comfortable bed (maybe even a balcony if the young lady is a smoker and so are you<\/em>), I’ve noticed that nine times out of ten the girls I take to my room after Midnight don’t want to leave until the morning even if we had agreed beforehand on a Short-Time, so they stay over after the actual \u201cShort\u201d and if I fall asleep when I wake up too they pay \u201cduty\u201d with a second round before leaving, otherwise if I am not sleepy and the baleful one decides to stay it can become even two rounds before I sleep, and when I wake up if I feel like it another one escapes without any problem, this has happened several times as well. Obviously there has to be a minimum of likability and if you are vaguely likable it works better, but with the same person, in this case myself, the two constants of this anomaly are always the same: Barfing the Girl After Midnight if she works in a Go Go or Pool Bar, and having a Nice Room in a Good Hotel<\/strong>(but the 70 m\u00b2 apartment with a hall and two bedrooms and two bathrooms in a vaguely upscale Condo likeHyde 11<\/a> in Bangkok is fine too, of course<\/em>). <\/span><\/p>\n

For freelancers, the situation is slightly different. It\u2019s more likely that the girl will want to stay in your bed even if you agreed on a Short-Time, especially if you bring her to your room after 1 or 2 a.m. This is because, in theory, her working hours are more flexible than a \u201cbar girl\u2019s,\u201d and it\u2019s reasonable to assume that after finishing with you, she won\u2019t want to look for other clients around 4 a.m. Instead, she\u2019ll prefer to enjoy a nice environment and a comfortable bed until morning, as well as the opportunity to build loyalty with a good client.
However, even in this situation, if for any reason she finds you unpleasant, she\u2019ll leave as fast as the wind as soon as the job is done (unless you\u2019re particularly generous\u2014in that case, the rule \u201ceveryone has a price, just offer the right amount\u201d might apply, but here we\u2019re talking about average rates, not \u201coffers you can\u2019t refuse<\/g>\u201d).
Then, of course, there are those who receive a genuine call from a regular client at 4 a.m. and leave regardless, or the girl who\u2019s already drunk picked up from the Go Go bar, who crashes on the bed after the service until she sobers up, and when she wakes up she doesn\u2019t even remember where she is and might run off quickly because someone was looking for her and she didn\u2019t answer.
While these aren\u2019t rare events, they are exceptions and don\u2019t depend on what was previously said. <\/p>\n

Let\u2019s say that decent behavior, a well-groomed appearance, and the ability to make them laugh and feel at ease help a lot in these cases. But personally, it has happened only once that a Short-Time after midnight turned into a Long-Time when I stayed in modest hotels, albeit not excessively cheap ones, such as the Stable Lodge<\/a> on Soi Sukhumvit 8 in Bangkok, which, although in an excellent location, well-maintained and very clean, with a small pool, a garden, and a good outdoor restaurant, is still a small “old style” hotel with relatively small and poorly soundproofed rooms, inexpensive furnishings, and a generally pleasant but very cheap<\/em> (In fact, I had chosen it mainly for the large balcony and the good location at a reasonable price during the high season.)<\/p>\n

Considering what has been said so far, another piece of advice I\u2019d give to \u201cbarfine newbies<\/em>\u201d is to never agree to a Long Time with a worker you don\u2019t know, especially early in the evening. Even if the girl seems lively and active while you\u2019re at the venue, it can happen that she changes her tune or isn\u2019t to your liking once you\u2019re in the room\u2014and at that point, you can\u2019t back out or change your mind. Not to mention that it could be her who doesn\u2019t want to stay. Therefore, it\u2019s better to opt for a Long Time only when you already know who you\u2019re dealing with, or if you don\u2019t mind throwing away a few thousand Baht more if one of the aforementioned situations occurs.
I have to admit that I\u2019ve only rarely chosen a Long Time with strangers, and seldom was the experience worth the price. Once, I even \u201cfell for\u201d the urgent call excuse\u2014of course, I knew it was a trick but let it slide and learned my lesson. Other times, it was me wanting to sleep alone after the first round: once out of tiredness, another time because there was no real connection with the girl, or simply because after satisfying the moment\u2019s urge, the chosen lady no longer seemed that interesting.<\/p>\n

Regarding Short-Time, there are various schools of thought. Some prefer to go early to the Go Go bars to have more choice and find the \u201cfreshest\u201d girls; others simply enjoy the evening and take with them whoever they like when they find her. Then there are those who arrive close to closing time and wait for the workers at the exit to save on the barfine cost.
Personally, I prefer not to overthink it and just go with the flow. Often, I end up spending the evening here and there, then get taken back to the hotel very late by a girl who catches my interest. So I have a good sample of episodes regarding Shorts that then turn into Long-Times, or if you prefer, \u201cmulti-shots with sleeping included,\u201d which might run from 4 AM to noon instead of from midnight to dawn\u2014but they\u2019re always more satisfying and interesting than a plain Short-Time early in the evening (provided you like living the night and resting until evening when it happens<\/em>). <\/p>\n

The fact remains that, excluding more complex situations with particular girls where it wasn\u2019t just a one-night experience, the greatest satisfactions I\u2019ve had were precisely with these unusual Long Short-Times after Midnight<\/em>. Because beyond the sex, if the girl decides to stay in that bed when she could leave, everything becomes more enjoyable. You get to think that deep down she liked it and doesn\u2019t mind your company.
Who cares if, in reality, she just wants to catch some sleep in a nice room? What matters is the moment\u2014the fleeting magic born from an unexpected event. Let\u2019s be honest, it makes you dream and fantasize when you watch her sleep and don\u2019t want to wake her because she looks damn cute wrapped in the blankets. Or maybe when you think it\u2019s better to bury your face between her thighs and greet her with some loving licks, and sleeping can wait until sunrise, followed by brunch around noon.<\/p>\n

Yeah, I know, I get long-winded sometimes, but I also know there\u2019s not much point in going on because the concept is clear. Still, I was thinking about it and wanted to share my thoughts with you fellow travelers, sure I\u2019m not the only one who\u2019s noticed these \u201ccoincidences,\u201d but equally convinced that many haven\u2019t experienced it or simply never paid attention.
But this is just another random thought from a womanizer\u2014take it for what it is, and always enjoy your time in whatever way you see fit. The rest will come naturally. <\/p>\n
