Venue: Butterflies is a Go Go Bar and is located on the top floor of Nana Plaza, to the right at the bottom of the highest balcony, just across the street from Billboard(an almost sister Venue owned by the same owners and run by the same team). Butterflies is one of the largest go go bars in Bangkok(and consequently in all of Thailand since “the world’s largest adult playground” is not a title given to Nana Plaza by accident), in fact as soon as we cross the entrance threshold we find ourselves in a large room with two large stages in front of it, one on the right and one on the left, equipped with the classic lap dance poles. At the back on the right, beyond the stage, there is “the stands” with sofas arranged on multiple levels. Also on the right side near the entrance is the DJ booth, and opposite it, on the other side of the stage and practically adjacent to the stands, is the bar counter. On the opposite side—that is, turning left after the entrance—there is a parterre with comfortable lounge areas, and near these, at the back of the room, there is a large tub where the girls stay topless among the foam. Continuing around the stage, you pass in front of the bathrooms’ entrance and then find the bar again, which actually occupies almost the entire long wall opposite the entrance. The stages, as well as the bar area and the tub, are surrounded by counters where you can rest your drinks and other items, and all around these are countless stools to sit on. The audio and lighting system is very good, the space is adequate, and generally, it’s possible to find a free stool even on the busiest nights. It’s a bit harder to find space on the sofas in the stands or in the parterre, especially if you’re not alone or in a group of more than two.
Girls: The number of girls varies greatly depending on the time and day of the week, but on average there are 50–60 during the week and a bit more on weekends, sometimes up to 100 girls for special events. The lineup is so large that there’s a bit of everything, but most of the girls are young and physically fit; the rest is a matter of personal taste. There is a good level of interaction (especially on the less visible sofas) and generally a good, engaged attitude, but of course, not all are the same, and in such quantity, you find a bit of everything.

Opening hours: Every day from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am(but also later).
Restaurant/Bar: The bar offers a good selection of beers and all kinds of alcohol, with prices in line with the competition. If you’re in a group and want to have a night out, up to 4 people can order and share a bottle of something instead of individual drinks. It’s not always the most cost-effective, but it looks impressive and might change the girls’ mood towards you (though you’ll still have to offer them Lady Drinks, no need to remind you ^^).
Notes: Nana Plaza’s Butterflies is without a doubt. one of the best go bars in the capital, both in terms of the quantity and quality of the girls and the overall ambiance and atmosphere. The music is good and discreetly varied. Venue has a very good sound and lighting system, there are good DJs playing a nice mix of disco classics, edm, as well as hip hop and current hits. The Butterflies is also known for the quality of its girls, much like its “big brother” Billboard (which in this regard is considered a step above, but it’s also true that it’s not always the case and you can find a mix of everything in both places). Some girls are more laid-back and sociable, others a bit more “pushy” about lady drinks, and some seem reserved at first but open up and become very rewarding with the right time and the right amount of drinks offered. The waitresses are quite friendly and playful, and although they do their job by encouraging customers to order more drinks, they generally don’t pressure as much as in some other places. The staff overall is fairly efficient, and the atmosphere is quite lively and festive, even though some nights are less energetic—especially the days following the weekend or after special events the day before. There’s never a strict rule, but when in doubt, you can always peek inside to see how the vibe is and decide whether to sit down for a drink or not.
In short: Given that Butterflies is one of my favorite places in Bangkok and without a doubt the Go Go Bar I have visited most frequently (So much so that by now the “main-mamasan” knows me and, knowing I’m a good customer, treats me accordingly. For example, there was that time when the place was quite crowded and I was sitting on a stool between the two stages with an empty glass because I wasn’t really in the mood to drink much, but I was with a girl who was happily drinking. One of the waitresses was “insisting” that I order something else, but the capamamasan, who “sees and knows everything,” came over, greeted me with a hug like I was her cousin, and then told the waitress not to bother me ^^), aside from personal experience which is subjective, it remains one of the best GoGo bars overall in terms of both the quality and quantity of the girls and the atmosphere. It’s great for those who want to spend the evening inside and then possibly retreat to a hotel with their chosen girl, but also for those looking for “takeaway” company after a drink (although I think going to Butterflies just to quickly take a girl out is almost a waste, but that’s back to personal preferences).
