Venue: Billboard is the most well-known and appreciated Go Go Bar in Nana Plaza, located at the far left end of the highest balcony, exactly opposite its “cousin” Butterflies (which is owned by the same management). Billboard is also the largest Go Go Bar in Bangkok, and one of its most distinctive features is the large revolving stage, which is essentially the focal point of the entire venue; in addition to this, there is another area with a stage and a pool/bathtub where the girls perform topless and it is surrounded by a bar counter and the usual stools. The long wall opposite the entrance hosts the “tribune” with tiered sofas and then the bar, while on the opposite side, that is, on the sides of the entrance, there are more “hidden” niches with several sofas and armchairs. The parterre is quite spacious, with numerous tables and stools for those who prefer to be in the heart of the action where the girls continuously pass by, rather than sitting in the tiered seating or on the sofas along the sides. The overall setting is darker, but the audio and lighting system is on par with Butterflies (managed by the same team). Regarding seating availability, despite there being many seats in the parterre and tiered areas, there can be shortages on busier nights, which may cause some discomfort during “peak hours.” Overall, the atmosphere is lively and very “disco,” and the environment is quite elegant compared to most other Go Go bars.
Girls: An unspecified but abundant number of girls are present. The lineup is quite respectable, though not all are up to par in quantity. The attitude is generally more professional and “reserved” compared to the very similar Butterflies, but naturally, they are not all the same. Among the many, there are plenty who are more sociable and friendly, while some (usually the most beautiful and in-demand) warm up only if they see a good profit margin—that is, if you offer Lady Drinks without worrying too much about the bill.
Prices: Drinks starting from 160 Baht. Lady Drink 200 Baht. – Barfine from 700 Baht. Short Time 4,000 Baht. Long Time from a minimum of 5000 Baht after midnight and beyond(but some go as far as asking for double that).
Opening hours: Daily from 8 pm to 2 am(and beyond).
Restaurant/Bar: The bar offers a good selection of beers and spirits of all kinds, with prices in line with the competition. There’s the option to order one or more bottles to share with friends, a good way to reserve a table in the heart of the action and attract the most popular girls (if you’re willing to spend enough, of course).
Notes: Nana Plaza’s Billboard is definitely one of the best Go Go Bars ever in terms of atmosphere, size and girls. Good music and party atmosphere do the rest . One of the highlights of the Billboard, in addition to the immense amount of Girls present is the large revolving platform where the ladies dance and spin, holding onto the poles while casting flirtatious glances and smiles at the customers in the room. It’s no coincidence that the venue is famous for the quality of its girls—often even more so than Butterflies (which isn’t inferior overall; it really depends on personal taste). Like its direct competitor from the same group, some girls here are more laid-back while others are more insistent about lady drinks, but that’s part of the game and there’s something for everyone. The waitresses aren’t very intrusive, and the staff in general is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is more lively than relaxing, but on quieter nights it’s still enjoyable.
In essence: Many visitors arrive early at the club to snag the best or most popular girls, but often these are Short Time bookings and the girls return to the floor later. In any case, there’s no shortage of choice, and if you’re not fixated on someone in particular, it’s enjoyable to spend time at Billboard watching the girls dance on the stage or play topless in the big pool. Generally, when it’s not too crowded, you can comfortably hang out in the “tribune” or the lower couches, interacting with a girl you might offer drinks to, then decide whether to take her back to your hotel or go elsewhere. On busy nights, it makes more sense to pick one and take her out from there if you want to enjoy her quietly, but keep in mind that Long Time rates tend to be quite high.
Unlike many, I personally prefer the club on the opposite side of Nana Plaza’s balcony for a thousand reasons, but as the saying goes: “to each their own.” Regardless, Billboard in Bangkok is worth at least one visit because it’s a nice venue, and you rarely see such a large number of attractive bikini-clad girls all together in one place — that’s a fact.
