Location: The “Penelope SaunaClub Deluxe,” or simply PENELOPE, is located 200 meters from the Castrop-Rauxel-Bladenhorst exit of the A42 highway. The venue is housed in a former brick factory, easily recognizable from the outside even before you spot the sign with the name of the club. The decor is in an Arabian style, somewhat similar to that of the Paradise in Saarbrücken and Graz, but more subdued and occasionally modern. For example, the reception area features angular lines on the counter surrounded by LED lights, which contrast slightly with the arabesque designs on the walls.
The main lounge is decorated with beds, canopies, carpets, and curtains. There is a long serpent-shaped sofa at the center and other small seating areas scattered throughout the large room. The bar is located in a separate but adjacent room, making it less central compared to most FKK Sauna Clubs in Europe, where the bar is usually the focal point of the venue.
The dining area consists of a small buffet with a handful of tables, minimalist but sufficient for the needs of the club. The rooms are located on the upper floor, generally small and without showers, with walls painted in vibrant colors and a mirror reflecting what’s happening on the bed.
In addition to the rooms, the club features a small Kino (which is essentially a TV room with a bed and a large sofa), as well as a small “slot machine” room. The wellness area includes a massage room and a sauna. The changing room with showers is relatively small, and the lockers available are not very spacious.
A special mention goes to the outdoor area, which includes another sauna and a pool, accessible through the veranda. Outside, there is a large canopy with sofas and tables, and the area is mostly finished with terracotta tiles. The pool, while not very large, is picturesque, situated where the grass begins.
Girls: Around 30-40 girls are present (the peak hours of attendance start after 6:00 PM until 2:00 AM, so during the opening hours until late afternoon, there are often only half or even fewer girls). The majority are Romanian, but there is always a “Bulgarian quota” and confirmed presences from Polish, Hungarian, Moldovan, Albanian, Turkish, and German girls, along with occasional visits from other nationalities. The aesthetic level of the girls is quite varied but generally good, distributed evenly across an age range from 20 to 30 years old (with some “senior” girls up to 40). There is also a good general attitude regarding social time in the main lounge and services in the rooms (with the usual exceptions and a few “scammers” of course).
Prices: Entry €35 (Friday and Saturday after 19:00 the price rises to €45) – Standard half-hour €50 (CIM +€30 – Anal +€50 to be agreed always with the Girls)- Opening Hours: Every day from 11:00 to 03:00. Friday and Saturday from 11:00 to 05:00.
Restaurant/Bar: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are served buffet-style (the quality of the food is variable, but considering the low entrance fee, it’s more than sufficient).
Non-alcoholic beverages are included in the entrance fee. Alcoholic drinks are available for an additional charge. Let me know if you’d like further assistance!
Notes: A few more words about the venue. Penelope is located in an industrial area of Castrop-Rauxel, a town with 70,000 inhabitants situated 20 minutes from downtown Dortmund and about 30 minutes from the city’s airport. The 2,500 m² interior space is enjoyable and spacious, as is the outdoor area where you can relax by the pool during warmer months.
Penelope is also one of the few Sauna Clubs that still maintain “affordable” prices. In fact, both the entrance fee and the 50 euros for a standard half-hour in a room are among the lowest you can currently find for this kind of venue (along with its “sibling” Acapulco Gold).
The service provided by the girls is not always exceptional, but on average, it’s good and satisfying. Despite being a “low-cost” sauna club, the line-up is solid, and the facility is not bad at all.
The only real downsides are the maintenance of the bathrooms and showers, which could use an upgrade, the lack of showers in the rooms, and the temperature inside the venue, which can often be colder than expected in the winter (especially when there are few people inside).
However, aside from these details, it is definitely worth spending some time at Penelope Sauna Club, as it balances the few shortcomings with many positives, especially if your main interest is to have fun with the working ladies without spending too much.
